ICT Research & Development (R&D) forums

As part of the Smart ICT: taking IT to the world strategy, the IIB has committed to undertake a series of ICT Research and Development (R&D) forums to bring together stakeholders involved in ICT R&D in Queensland.

A major objective of these forums is to enhance the links between university and industry researchers and to provide more opportunities for collaboration and skills development.

The first R&D forum, held on 2 September 2005 - the ICT graduate placement programs seminar - showcased several ICT graduate and work experience placement programs.

A second R&D forum, held on 3 February 2006 – the ICT R&D technology clinic – explored potential areas of focus for Queensland ICT R&D to inform the development of a Queensland ICT R&D strategy.

A series of R&D Forums were held on 19 December 2006 to elicit input from industry, research organisations and end users into the development of the proposed Queensland ICT R&D strategy.

Brian Anker - Deputy Director-General, Science, Technology and Innovation, Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry, address to the R&D forum, 19 December 2006.
