ICT Industry Networks & Associations

The Information Industries Bureau (IIB) works closely with a number of ICT industry groups and associations, many of which have IIB representation on their committees or use IIB facilities for their Queensland branch meetings.

Ai Group
Ai Group is Australia's largest industry association representing over 11,000 large and small member companies engaged in manufacturing, construction and related service industries, including information and communication technology (ICT).

Australian Computer Emergency Response Team - AusCERT
AusCERT proactively disseminates information to subscribers about vulnerabilities, risks and attacks on Australian networks and provides technical advice to help counter these threats.

Australian Computer Society - ACS
The ACS is a recognised association for IT professionals and has become the public voice of the IT profession and the guardian of professional ethics and standards.

Australian Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (AEEMA)
AEEMA is the leading industry body representing Australia's information and communication technology (ICT), electronics and electrical manufacturing industries. AEEMA's objective is to strengthen the competitive position of the Australian electrical, electronic and ICT industries and promote value-adding by those industries wherever possible, in both domestic and international markets. AEEMA members supply infrastructure, products and manufacturing-related services to Australian and world markets.

Australian Institute for Commercialisation - AIC
The Australian Institute for Commercialisation (AIC) is a national, not-for-profit company dedicated to enhancing Australia’s ability to commercialise its research and development (R&D) in the global marketplace.

Australian Information Industry Association – AIIA
AIIA is an association of small, medium and large companies - local and international - involved in developing, producing and distributing computer and telecommunications hardware, infrastructure, software and services.

Australian Telecommunications Users Group – ATUG
ATUG's mission is to ensure that, through enhanced competition, Australian users get the widest range of communication services of the best quality at the lowest sustainable price.

Australian Interactive Multimedia Industry Association – AIMIA
AIMIA is a national industry association for interactive multimedia, with chapters in each state/territory.

Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG)
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is a trade association comprised of leaders in the telecommunications, computing, and network industries that is driving the development of a low-cost short-range wireless specification for connecting mobile products.

Building Industry Consulting Services International - BICSI
BICSI is a telecommunications industry association that represents more than 25,000 professionals in over 110 countries. It leads the telecommunications industry in the enhancement of quality services and methods around the globe by providing excellent education, promoting skill sharing, and assessing knowledge with professional, standards-based accreditation programs."

CHIK Services Pty Ltd
CHIK Services (CHIK) Pty Ltd is an independent, self-sustaining, not-for-profit company that aims to be an active participant in transforming the delivery of healthcare through appropriate technology use. With a client base spanning the Health, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sectors CHIK provides a range of services including newsletter subscriptions (a fortnightly online Health ICT service), commissioned and primary research, consultancy and events.

E-Health Research Centre
The e-Health Research Centre is a multidisciplinary ICT research team undertaking research in the health marketplace. The e-Health Research Centre is a joint venture between Australia's Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation and the Queensland Government.

Information Technology Contract & Recruitment Association (ITCRA)
ITCRA is the industry body representing IT contract and recruitment organisations in Australia and New Zealand, setting the direction for the industry and influencing its standards and code of practice. ITCRA represents its members’ interests to government, employers and employees.

Internet Industry Association (IIA)
The Internet Industry Association is Australia's national Internet industry organisation providing policy input to government and advocacy on a range of business and regulatory issues.

Institute for Information Management (IIM)
IIM is a member-based organisation which aims to become the definitive Australasian industry source on the information management industry.

Industry Capability Network (ICN) Queensland
The ICN are commissioned by the Queensland Government to provide specific import replacement services, for private and public sector organisations, to maximise local industry participation and content in projects and procurement.

Network Professional Association – NPA
The NPA is a self-regulating, non-profit association of network computing professionals that sets standards of technical expertise and professionalism.

Queensland Java Users Group
JUG-QLD is the local Java User's Group for the Brisbane region. Register with AJUG to be updated on meetings, events, contests, etc.

The QMI provides provides a broad range of services to help organisations achieve manufacturing and product development excellence through world-class practices.

Software Process Improvement Network - SPIN
The ACS National Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) is focused on improving the process in which software is developed and maintained.

Software Quality Institute (SQI)
